Component Architect provides several levels of support and documentation. Most support sections of the Component Architect site require the user to, at the least, be a registered user (if you are not registered you will only have access to Contact Us Form).
The following describes the support and documentation provided by Component Architect:
The Forum support area of the Component Architect is accessible by all registered users of the site and is the primary support mechanism for those users that are using the free Component Architect extension.
The Component Architect support staff will also add posts to the forum of questions raised through the paid Subscriber support tickets which may be applicable to all users of Component Architect.
Whilst every effort will be made to promptly answer questions raised by users in the forum, it must be remembered that this is a free service and that priority will first be given to any support issued raised through the paid Subscriber's support ticket system. When the Component architect support staff will not be able to provide prompt responses in the forum (because of public holidays etc) then this will be announced in the forum's home page.
For those users that have subscribed to the Professional subscription package, an additional individual support ticket system is provided which will have priority and prompt responses from Component Architect support staff.
The Subscriber support tickets will be divided into two categories:
Component Architect Pro - questions and issues in using Component Architect Pro for the definition and generation of components
Code Template Development - where the subscribed user is developing their own custom code templates then this is the category to use for any questions on how to do this and the markup values that can be used. The support provided does not include actual coding of large areas of custom code templates just advice to the end user on how they may perform this. If complex Code Template Development is required then additional consultancy and actual development can be purchased from Component Architect see the Custom Code Templates page for more details.
Component Architect will strive to be one of the best documented Joomla! components available.
Even from the outset we will provide comprehensive documentation of the features and functions of Component Architect via in component help links (for those using Component Architect in an XAMPP/WAMP environment then they will still be able to access in component help information even if not on-line).
You can access this information without downloading Component Architect by following the links in the modal window that will appear when you click on this button
We are currently in the process of converting this help information and extending it to provide comprehensive documentation both via on-line documentation and downloadable pdf documents. Documentation that is available, or that will shortly be available, includes:
User Guide for Component Architect
Quick Start Guide for Component Architect (video presentation may be developed shortly later)
User Guide for Component Architect Pro
Hints and Tips
Code Template Mark-up Specification
Code Template Development Guide (planned for release later in year)
Contact Us Form
Pre-download and pre-subscription questions may be asked in the Forum but if you wish to ask questions prior to registration then you can use the Contact Us form (captcha protected) to raise any questions you have.
Please note that Contact Us queries will have the lowest priority and thus may take longer than you anticipate to be responded to by Component Architect support staff. If you have an urgent question then may we suggest you register and use the forum to search for answers and raise your additional questions.
